JAM Coding Lab is dedicated to providing Middle Eastern Christian students with an opportunity to get involved with computer science from a young age.

This is an opportunity for Eastern Christian Churches to offer STEM education to the children of the parish as well as youth fundraising. Classes are offered free of charge. A donation to the church youth group is recommended.

Classes are held online. We have several experienced instructors who teach computer science professionally to children from around the world and at other large non-profits in the Boston area.

Our introductory Scratch course is perfect for younger students who have no coding experience. This class will provide a strong foundation to simple programming logic through fun and exciting activities and games. Through interactive group work, students engage in team problem-solving, and developing skills in both collaboration and computer science. This course will go in depth to all the Scratch functions and will equip students with the skills necessary to make projects on their own. Key projects in this course include a guess my number game (with sensing), a maze game, and a choose your own adventure game.

Java is our core introductory high school-level course in computer science. Students learn through hour-long lectures including notes on new concepts and demo projects. Students focus on making fun projects alongside problem sets. After 6 months - 1 year of our classes students will be coding at a college level.
